[YAY! He is looking like a slightly better man now that he isn't squeezed into a weird plug suit.
He's actually in a rather nice vest, shirt (with a tie!), and trousers, and a glove on his right hand. He also has his crutch! His hair is fluffy and unruly, and he still has the worst gaunt face and sunken eyes, BUT. But he looks a bit better.
He's standing on the observation deck by the window, looking at the stars outside in the black void not unlike he had looked at Roboji initially. He is pretty awed by what he's able to see.]
[ hilariously, shoma is actually here already. i've had him at the observation deck so much today, and he and roboji are here because shoma's doing a deeper assessment of his robot to make sure it's in good shape and the deck was a quiet place to work. he's in his own clothes again (headphones on and everything), but he's kind of observing viktor for a moment.
he looks a little better. so that's good. and normally he wouldn't speak up first, but... ]
...have you ever seen something like this before? [ he's slowly learning that not everyone has ever seen space or even stars like this. ]
If he saw Shoma working busily, he had decided not to bother. Just because they occupy the same space doesn't mean they have to be interacting! Hehe, parallel play... just for introverts.
He does glance at Shoma in acknowledgement when he's spoken to, though.]
No... I mean, other than looking at them from under the sky of Piltover. Hextech can transport things across Runeterra, but... no one has breached the sky yet. It's beautiful, but... seems... lonely.
but, you know. he can work and talk at the same time and he has decided viktor has earned that right. he's also saying a lot of words that shoma's unfamiliar with, but he's keeping note of them for now. ]
Space travel's been happening for decades where I'm from. People go on missions to the moon and drones and other ships have ventured to other planets and their moons, too. [ ... ] But I've always kind of thought it'd be a little lonely, too, to be out there without much contact.
[SPACE TRAVEL. Wow. Thinks the man who helped invent magical planetary travel. He's peering thoughtfully out at the black void of entropy, holding his chin in his left hand.]
We haven't thought that far ahead, I guess. Hextech was innovation for people's lives. Not really... space exploration material yet.
of course Viktor is inside fiddling endlessly with the mechanics of changing it, of seeing what it can do. He doesn't have his usual work, so he needs an outlet to funnel all the terrible energy.
The energy that will unfortunately get dumped right on top of Shoma. It feels like death. But not a fast death. A slow, crawling death. The exhaustion of being terribly unwell. A dull ache which never goes away in the spine and the pelvis. A right hand and a right leg that are cold and numb. He's kind of just leaning on his crutch there as if he does not notice this.]
but shoma's entering the sim room with roboji rolling along behind him, but he stops dead in his tracks in the doorway when the feelings hit. this is...a slow, steady feeling of dread. it's exhaustion. it's the funneling of life, something that a person has to live with every wretched day to the point that it just becomes normal and unnoticed.
and he hates it. he hates knowing that someone feels like this, and while he doesn't verbally respond viktor may soon notice an emotional feedback of frustration and vague confusion filtering right back to him. ]
The return sensation is confusing, and then he realizes it's someone else weaseling through. Startles, he turns to look. OH, THE BABY. NOOOO. Thankfully, Viktor at least understands by this point what the hell is happening.
The feelings abate slightly beneath the surprise, then the concern. He hobbles a few steps in Shoma's direction, but stops.]
[ he would love if all of you fucks would stop saying these things are fine!!! anyway, viktor turns to look at him and the expression on shoma's face is. well. pain, obviously, but there's something else a little unreadable in it as he's busy shaking it off. he holds up a hand as if to stop viktor, but it's obvious from his emotions that it's not a signal to stay away. it's a signal to make him stop moving when this is very obviously something he deals with constantly. ]
I feel like I should be asking you that instead. [ because yeah? he has also figured out what's going on this week. ]
[He waits for a few long moments before he gives up and starts walking stiltedly toward Shoma. The ache in the back is still dull, but each step of the right leg gently thumps it.
He does finally stop near Shoma, leaning on the crutch.]
If it's too unbearable, I can leave you be until this hopefully passes...
[ assigns mizuki as somewhere else ig so that viktor can find him alone.
by now, at least, the vibes are far less rancid and panicked and seem more...bleak. not really calm, but more settled and heavy but like the kind of heaviness where a person is used them. he hears the sound of the crutch though and there's a brief blip of surprise as he turns his head to look behind him. ]
Viktor. Is everything okay? [ i hate that he's concerned instead. ]
Viktor is, of course, at the observation deck. He has somehow managed to draw a chair over, or maybe this one was already there, so he can sit instead of stand closer to the glass. The crutch is resting against his chest and shoulder.
But he seems a bit strange. He's sitting like a hunched statue, his eyes staring distantly through the conservatory, unblinking. The staring is focused, intense, and he doesn't seem to be really looking at anything present. Past it. Entered the mind palace.
But Shoma's words snap him into focus and he looks over.]
I think something very unexpected has happened, and the superior crew don't know what it is yet, and they don't want to incite panic in us. Or maybe they do, but the result is the same.
The result being "we really are on our own"? Yeah, I got that, too. [ he won't find another chair, but he does come to just sit on the floor nearby and stare out the window with him. the vibe is...broody. ]
...did you get to talk to Scien last night after all? [ before he fucking exploded, i guess. ]
[HOW DID I CATCHALL GET SO BIG WHEN I DIED SO EARLY???? HELLO
ANYWAY HI. Viktor is on the second floor of the biome looking at the aquarium because it's rad. Especially the bioluminescent animal parts. WATCHING SOME JELLIES... until he notices Shoma. And maybe Roboji, he has no idea if Roboji is with him or not.]
anyway. roboji is truly probably just doing wheelies down the hall in another part of the aquarium, and shoma himself is watching the biome glass in awe. everything's so colorful? he's here for it. but he finds himself grinning when he notices viktor instead. ]
That, I think, is a huge understatement. [ hehe. ] It sort of feels like it's been way longer than it's really been.
He reaches out to give Shoma a little head ruffle/waggle because it's needed, he's missed it. Even if Shoma is, like, technically 18 in spirit. STILL A BABY.]
It does. It has been quite some time... I missed talking with you.
[This is why he is not coughing up fucking flowers like the rest of these dingdongs. AND ALSO SHOMA. Looks at him pointedly. Me, Anna.]
[ sometimes you are just a lil robo-guy who wants to explore and your creature goes "yeah sure."
anyway! it's been a minute, and a lot of things ha happened so he does in fact allow for the ruffle even if there's a little laugh and light, teasing swat. it's a token protest, nothing real. ]
Letters didn't really cut it, huh? [ HE'S NOT COUGHING UP FLOWERS EITHER RIGHT NOW STOP. ] There's so much I wanted to ask you and tell you about but the limit really made it difficult to do anything at all.
