but auction items are unlocked :) which means that in the stasis bay, where scien had been spending a solid amount of his time, he's looking at the now glowing, active, awake reliver machine. it thrums with a foreboding energy and scien is at one of the monitors, running a diagnostics check. when viktor walks in, scien's expression turns a bit more wary]
I will break you if you act out.
[thanks scien. but he won't immediately usher viktor out at least]
He sort of freezes in surprise at the entrance, like he understands he has walked in on something he maybe should not see even if he quickly has a rise of curiosity.
He comes in only to not stand in the door, but does not go much farther than that for the moment.]
[scien will just watch him for a moment, then closing out the screens he had open so that it primarily runs in the background. might as well remove the temptation.]
Yes.
Though I understand you've already developed a plan to help your lover, so I will not be providing any additional insight.
[viktor..... messy]
If you seek to lengthen your lifespan, it will have to wait until I finalize testing on how to transfer emotions properly.
[The first part makes him look immediately surprised and a tad anxious, uncertain. He can't even take the time to find it amusing Scien says "lover" now after SOMEONE had a problem with it.
He doesn't say anything, instead venturing in and somewhat over toward Scien. As if he's full and ready for Scien to tell him to get lost, he stops nearby and leans on the crutch under his arm.]
Just find me later... You don't need to come here for it.
[keep viktor away from his tech right after scien performs a miracle it's so risky]
You can't keep inviting yourself to temptation. If you want me to fix you, wait. You won't even be able to keep the love that took you so long to admit to.
[He will probably end up leaving coffee and some snacks by the door ANYWAY because that's unfortunately just how EMOTIONS work for people who can feel them, it's very terrible. But he at least won't hang around.]
I will find you sometime later then. [...] Are you really prepared to test... having emotions?
I am. It has been my intention for some time, since Dahut and I spoke of it in early weeks. I simply didn't expect a chance to run the experiment before going back to Arpéchéle...
However, in the end, Relivers are meant to offer an opportunity at humanity. And I suppose... humanity is incomplete without its full range of feelings, however inconvenient they may be at times.
To be honest, I was never a particular emotive person even before I became a Reliver... So while I'm sure I'll have more than I do currently, I don't anticipate a big change.

It's working again, isn't it?

Yes.

I don't mind waiting.

but he drops it once viktor doesn't crowd the machine]
Oh? Even after despising my methods to get here?
no subject
I didn't say I would do it... Just that I don't mind waiting to see if you can adjust it.
no subject
[scien said 'until' not 'whether'.]
The first trial will be happening within the next twenty-four hours, after all.
no subject
He glances between the machine and Scien.]
Trial...? On who?
no subject
like he's not sure why he's asking that
isn't it obvious?]

[He makes a face again slightly. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY FREAKS HERE!!!]
Is Dahut going to be helping you?
no subject
I don't believe I'll need an assistant for this one, though I don't mind...
no subject
At least let him be present. You should be careful. Don't tinker without a watch, not here. Your loss might as well be a dent in what we can do.
[THE BRAIN POWER WILL GO DOWN BY, LIKE, 30% OR MORE.]

no subject
Oh. I understand.
[A glance at the machine so he can pretend he didn't, like, say something STUPIDLY CONCERNED in front of God (literal) and everyone.]
Should I bring coffee when I come back in the morning then?
no subject
Why are you coming back.

I'm... not coming to look at your work. [This is so amusing to him.] I'm coming to drop off coffee and make sure neither of you are dead.
[He doesn't think either of them will be dead. It's the vibe of walking up to see if they're suffering immensely and need help.]
no subject
Neither of us will die. And even if we do, we can just have normal Reliver bodies.

This news makes his laugh. It's, like, a short one that is surprised out of him, but then when he hears it, he starts laughing more.]
Sorry, it's just... going to be strange if you have them. I don't know if I like it.
[Teasing.]

You better be careful. You might just fall in love.

Well, I plan to.
