[He stands there for a moment eyeballing Eunhyuk thoughtfully. His expression is asking, but he does not verbalize it just yet. He's probably debating if he should.]
Our dear comrade Charles said he thought it best not to acknowledge weird things on our profiles unless the other person offered first.
[Mildly teasing:]
So should I ask about you being a collector of bad memories, or just carry on?
hilariously, this eases some of eunhyuk's tension in a 'of course charles would say that' kind of way,]
It sounds pretty concerning when you put it like that. [COLLECTOR OF BAD MEMORIES... the secret weeb part of eunhyuk probably enjoys that,]
But it's not that serious. The bad memories just take precedence, because they're the most recent ones for me. [HE'S NOT AN AMNESIAC OR ANYTHING IT'S FINE] So even if I imagine my home, I keep thinking about it being destroyed.
[ANNA.... DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BE ABLE TO READ.....
we want charles to ship so bad even though he is happily married.... he nods,]
The military thought we were harboring fugitives, so they sent bombs. [damb] But it was already breaking down even before that point.
[he touches his wrist where the IRIS is, and then brings up the simulation of a pretty ragged apartment building. the name "green home mansion apartments" is emblazoned on the side in peeling paint,]
[wow after our long spiral about realizing i have seen some of this canon which i forgot
Viktor shifts so he can look around what's projected for them. The building is a disaster, but he does not look disgusted, or surprised. His eyes skim the name.]
Sounds like the Undercity. Looks like something you'd find in the Undercity, too.
...I was born in the Undercity. But I tried my hand at Piltover when I was a young man, to join the Academy. I knew it was the only way I would be able to do what I wanted to do: invent things.
It wasn't easy. I had no sponsor, no money. Only what I could do, and I had to convince the Dean I was worth it. But luckily, [there is some guilt here? strangely?] he... was a good man.
[Nooooooooooooo, not the compliments. He gets incredibly shy, but PROUD. NOOOOO, EUNHYUK CAN FEEL THE SHYNESS AND THE PRIDE!!!! THE DON'T LOOK AT MES!!! This week is HELL.]
I've always wanted to build things that helped others, especially the people in the Undercity. I stopped being the Dean's assistant to join a research partner. We created Hextech together.
A merging of the arcane and technology. We built things to help make work and life easier for people. And the Hexgates, to make commerce better.
[HELP, THESE EMOTIONS......... they're so softe wow, eunhyuk tries to spare victor by suppressing the curl of amusement threatening to rise through him.... so he'll concentrate on his words instead,]
...You invented the Hexgates? [he remembers when viktor briefly mentioned them in their last conversation,
it makes asking him questions about it a little funny in hindsight]
[Don't look at him. Just ignore the nerdiness, thank you.]
Yes. I helped my partner stabilize the hex crystals he had been working on. Once we did, it was easier to figure out how to utilize them to power pieces of machinery. Or teleportation towers, like the Hexgates.
[He shrugs very gently.]
Several years. Not as long as one would think. But Jayce had been working on the crystals for a long time.

Hearing this startles Viktor because, at first, he thinks it's something Eunhyuk said, and it's such a bold thing to just... declare.]
The bad...?
[Wait, that... didn't sound out loud? What.]
Sorry--I think I misheard you.

there is a beat where eunhyuk is like 'what', and then he realizes,]
...You didn't. I just didn't say that part out loud. These nanites are pretty amazing, huh?
[he says that, but the emotion here is DRY]
no subject
Thoughts... too?
no subject
Eunhyuk nods slowly, he doesn't even have to emotion share, the vibe is horse man emotions,]
It's pretty brief whenever it does happen, if that helps.

eunhyukxcharles......]
It says a lot about human nature's desire to survive that they easily remember what's the most uncomfortable.
[Supposedly. A weeb, but not an amnesiac.]
It was destroyed?

Sounds like the Undercity. Looks like something you'd find in the Undercity, too.

Is it 'Under' because it's literally under the city? Or because of the lower tax bracket?
no subject
Both. Zaun is across the river from Piltover, but much of Zaun is beneath Piltover, so they call it the Undercity.
...It's basically Piltover's dumping ground.
no subject
It sounds similar, though we're not as clearly divided from the rest of the city.
How much bigger is Zaun compared to Piltover?
no subject
Zaun is approximately a quarter or so bigger. Piltover's buildings reach for the sky standing on the back of Zaun.
The top promenade of Zaun mingles at the bottom of Piltover.

Which part are you from?

You must be pretty skilled to catch his notice, with all those odds stacked against you.
[it's impressive]
What kind of things did you want to invent?
