[DON'T JUST LUMP DAHUT GIVING HIM A HUG INTO THE CONCERNING THINGS CATEGORY. He will continue to hug Viktor, looking up at him with a little furrow at his brow.]

Hello, Monsieur Viktor. Today was terrible.

[That is a very succinct way of summarizing it all, yes.]

[WAHT THE FCK IS THIS DEEP BLUE FISH SLICE SHIT WITH GOLD SAUCE FIRST OF ALL HELLO.

Dahut blinks, a little surprised by both the kindness in the offer and the softness in the gesture. DAD? DAD???]

Oh! For me? It's okay...? [He's guessing that this is for Sidon, and that there are two skewers that were probably meant to be shared, so he hesitates to take it. For the question, though, with honesty:]

I'm a little tired, but I'm okay. I just wish we could get people to stop making silly mistakes that hurt others...

[I AM MAKING VIKDON REAL WITH THE POWER OF DELUSION!!!!! I believe in them, and also in the 50 kids Viktor is adopting.]

Ah... I don't think I've tried anything like it before. Thank you for sharing!

[He'll release Viktor from his hug but move to hold his hand instead, taking the skewer with his free one. He seems to wilt a little at that, though.]

They are... I understand why they act this way, really! I do... It's so hard to think clearly when you're in the middle of feeling so many things. [And Dahut, local emotion stan, will always support people feeling all their wild feelings. All the same:] It's still difficult to see them do so much harm when they're trying to help.
artificialsweetener: (better that you had some fun)

[JUST A 3 METER FISH MAN, A DYING SICKLY SCIENTIST, AND HIS [REDACTED] 12-YEAR-OLD AND 65-YEAR-OLD GERIATRIC TEEN.

Not the batter-dipped honey snack zoomies, though. He does appreciate the fussing when it's turned his way, even so, and he will take a lil bite from this ball of pure sugar and carbs as he considers how he wants to phrase his answer to his cool uncle.]

...Mostly just-- more of the same from yesterday, really. It makes me sad that Mademoiselle Rosamund had to suffer like that when she could have ended her life in a much less painful way, had they been able to organize themselves at trial better.
artificialsweetener: (even the slightest hope)

[GO TO BED ANNAAAAAAA YOURE BECOMING THE POSSUM.]

That's a dangerous way of thinking. [Said as he leans into Viktor's side, looking thoughtful as he chews.]

It's true that we ended up conflating trials and brig imprisonment with the events on Sundays, but there's nothing to say the same thing would happen if two malfunctioning people escape, or if one does but one doesn't... We can have a hypothesis that the ship will take care of all hostiles, but testing it out would require putting everyone else at risk. They'll need to proceed like nothing's changed if they want to limit lost lives, I think.
artificialsweetener: (don't forget the way)

[TUCKS YOU IN AGGRESSIVELY LIKE A BURRITO UNTIL U ARE IMMOBILE.

Dahut bonks against his side, huffing out a light little laugh.]

I like to hear your personal musings. If I were to personally muse back, I think I'd say that it would be better for them if they didn't have to worry about catching anyone - if the ship just took care of it. They're so terribly disorganized...

[DON'T JUST SAY THEY'LL BOTH SINK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ATLANTIC.]

Even the smallest of silver linings is a wonderful thing!

[But of course he, king optimism, would think that... He does look a little more concerned at the mention of Shoma, though.]

Mm, I think he's... probably one of the last, if not the last person left on that side with a deep understanding of technology.

[Like sure there are probably some other tech-savvy people out there BUT ARE ANY OF THEM GENIUSES? As a fellow genius, he has a bias.]
artificialsweetener: (oya)

[personal profile] artificialsweetener 2024-04-02 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
[NO GOING DOWN SWINGING, NO!!! Dahut is just leaning against Viktor without any moving around like a little sugar demon.]

Mm, that's true... Though I still don't know why certain people are awake on Thursdays when they're not malfunctioning. It sounds like Shouxue just came across Monsieur Sidon, and Monsieur Scien didn't have any violent inclinations toward me until everyone else had passed out...

[SHOMA'S GONNA GET SUPERMURDERED. Anyway, simply and rudely:]

I'd rather die again than try to walk someone who's technologically inept through complex technology.
artificialsweetener: (and ill tell you what you get)

[personal profile] artificialsweetener 2024-04-02 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
[HECKING AFFECTION WEEK. Dahut will miss it so bad when next week becomes pain week... He also WHINES like a little brat.]

I'd do my very best, of course, and I'd still be a much, much, much better choice than Monsieur Scien- [HELP] -but still! Though I think I'll be fine since Monsieur Lucien favors you.
artificialsweetener: (and we'll both live again)

[personal profile] artificialsweetener 2024-04-02 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
[A LITTLE PAIN WON'T STOP HIM. He'll hold hands very carefully...]

Oh, but it's very charming...! The fact that he wants to see you so, sooo badly that he'd take these risks just for a few minutes more by your side...!

[SPARKLING. And then eating another bite of his sugarballs.]

I think one of those things is probably more curable than the other.
artificialsweetener: (she took your face)

[personal profile] artificialsweetener 2024-04-02 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
[NOOOOOO this is so funny. So funny that he just laughs, clear and bell-like, and then holds the stick with his teeth so he can reach up with both hands and sandwich Viktor's face.]

He's as stubborn as can be and you're just as terrible! What a match. He'll keep denying and you'll keep pushing, and maybe together, you'll just end up locked in benign stagnation.

[No Lucien's just going to be departicled, too, through his own stubbornness.]
artificialsweetener: (powdered with ashes)

[personal profile] artificialsweetener 2024-04-02 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[HE LAUGHS!! He won't laugh over this, though... This angular face is so hilarious to squish. Squishsquish. He'll eventually release his hold, though, and his smile softens a little.]

No, someone like you certainly wouldn't want to. That's why you end up in situations like this, where dangerous things could happen. Risk and progress go hand-in-hand, after all.

(no subject)
